Celebrate Africa!

Africa Arise!!!! These were the final words of the homily that Pope Benedict gave at the conclusion
of the 2009 African Synod, celebrated in Rome in October with over 300 bishops participating from
around the Catholic world. This gesture of energy and hope continued to be played out as Pope
Benedict XVI issued Africae Munus, Latin for Africa’s Commitment, his follow up statement to the 56
proposals made by the Bishops at the Synod which was published this past November 2011. Now is it
a matter of getting the word out!!!
