Through our monthly e-newsletter, NO BORDERS: PASSION FOR CHRIST, PASSION FOR HUMANITY we hope to share ways Catholic youth and young adults may broaden their minds and hearts beyond the borders of culture and faith. Charter for Compassion
As part of the global commitment of our Catholic faith is to interfaith dialogue and solidarity, we invite you to be part of the Charter for Compassion.
The Charter for Compassion is a collaborative effort to build a peaceful and harmonious global community. Bringing together the voices of people from all religions, the Charter seeks to remind the world that while all faiths are not the same, they all share the core principle of compassion and the Golden Rule. The Charter will change the tenor of the conversation around religion. It will be a clarion call to the world.
The Charter will show that the voice of negativity and violence so often associated with religion is the minority and that the voice of compassion is the majority. Through the participation of the grassroots, people around the world will expect more out of religious leaders and one another. In doing so, the Charter will shift conceptions of religion for all people.
The Birth of the Compassion of Christ
As Catholics we understand that the birth of hope, Jesus Christ, died for all of humanity, no matter what they believe. Christmas reminds us of our tie to each and every human being worldwide. This connection was made in the heavens, and like a "marriage", can never be broken. Our global solidarity as Catholics can be seen symbolically in the gathering of the wise men, foreigners from other lands, who gathered around the Christ child.
May this season awaken in you a renewed sense of wonder, joy, passion and courage to change the story of the world we live.
